MULTIPLE BATHROOMS & KITCHEN RENOVATION

MARKHAM | 2022

PROJECT MAIN STREET

PROJECT MAIN STREET is an older home located in the heart of Markham. This home has had several owners over several decades, and each homeowner has tried to put their stamp on the place with various renovations and additions. Unfortunately this created a space that didn’t have a great flow and eventually didn’t function properly for our clients. We tackled this project in two separate phases – first the second-floor bathrooms, then the ground floor.

Our clients completely transformed the second floor with new floors and paint, and also by renovating and ADDING a bathroom! We turned a very small bedroom into a good-sized bathroom with a freestanding tub and large shower and reworked the layout of the existing bathroom to make it more functional. The goal in both bathrooms was function, timelessness, and neutrality.

These bathrooms are strictly black and white, which was a fun and exciting challenge! We also re-designed our client’s entire living area on their ground floor. What is now a large kitchen with an eat-in dining area, walk-in pantry/servery, and large living room used to be divided into 7 different small and choppy rooms. The shaker-style cabinetry, brand-new appliances, and subway tile backsplash are the transitional design elements this client was looking for in their new home.

We’ve mixed white, warm wood, and black countertops for some warmth and visual interest in this space. The servery and walk-in pantry flow directly into the living room and provide the client with so much storage and added function in their transformed ground floor.
